Marrakech

Once the focal point of a great empire, Marrakech stands at the crossroads between the swirling sands of the Sahara and the snow-capped slopes of the Atlas Mountains. Encircled by ochre-coloured walls, Marrakech is one of Morocco's four Imperial Cities. Its very name conjures up images of noisy bazaars and monumental palaces - and not without reason. Take a stroll through its bustling streets and you're bound to hear the hypnotic song of snake charmers' flutes or the melodic wail of muezzins calling people to prayer. Luring travellers from across the world, Marrakech is a magical city that will intoxicate your senses with its mix of cultural treasures, exotic flavours and local colour.

Riad Bahja

24 Derb J did bab Doukkala Marrakech MORROCCO

The Riad Bajha is situated in a relaxing heaven just a short walk from Jamaa El Fna Square, the Souks and the European District. This beautiful 19th century home is a perfect example of Moroccan architecture and is structured around a courtyard with a fountain. With its central location and welcoming environment the Riad Bahja will turn your stay into a memorable experience. Riads are the total Morrocan experience and always situated within the walled medina with its souks and markets. The streets are winding and cobbled therefore the transfer vehicles will get as close as possible and some walking may be necessary. Riads are small properties and family run, the staff are there to offer assistance and advice along with our free resort representatives. The bonus of Riads is the ability to request specific Morrocan meals (in advance) which will be home cooked to order and taken either in a traditional salon or possibly on the rooftop terraces. Riads are peaceful havens and very contrasting to the hustle and bustle of the Medina areas and are suited to couples, single travellers and families with older children, they may contain steps or narrow stairwells and the medina pathways are normally uneven and may not suit customers with walking difficulties or mobility problems. It must be noted that Riads are not hotels – they are private residences and more intimate and traditional in their concept than a chain hotel. If you want to glimpse a taste of Morroco then rhese properties are a must!

Facilities within the hotel include a reception, Internet access, a roof terrace, Moroccan Lounge and private shows with local music and dancers (on request). The hotel offers a free dinner to clients who spend at least a week in the Riad Bahja. The Riad is located nearby or within the souk area of Marakech. As some taxi drivers may not know of the accomodation and may not be able to accompany guests to the door of the hotel, clients are advised to book a transfer from the airport where door to door service will be received!
